Getting over colds and all good things come in twos !(?)

Hola, bon jour, hej and hi!

This week has been a first in the little life of our Heidi. She has a real, nasty and lasting cold. For the very first time she has all those 'lovely' symptoms of a true swedish or canadian chest and head cold. We're talking stuffy nose, cough and general misery. Us from the north, we've all been there.

She's been a trooper though and as long as she gets lots of cuddles, she's ok.
Fred and I have been a bit clueless about what to do up until now. What are we supposed to do and can we give her medicine to help her feel better? Are we supposed to take her to see the doctor? Heidi is so little and you can't really treat her or treat her cold the same way as we would ourselves, which would be to do nothing and just ride it out.

Hopefully she'll get better really soon.
Apart from runny noses and depression in anticipation of summer, two really good things have happend to us this week.

The house deal and our finance have obtained final and unconditional approval from the bank. Woohooo!! The bank trusts us!! ;) So we're all good to move in on the 15th of Jan. Im already decorating, painting walls and putting wallpaper up in my head. (not that I think any of you are the slightest bit surprised by that :) )

The second great thing that has happend this week is that Fred has signed a contract to join The Wood Group as General Manager of Information Management.

Fred is excited to start his new job and is spending the last weeks of his notice period at CP mining organisning putting competitions in his office and going for fancy lunches. In other words, no different from before resigning. ;)

Here is the link to the new company he's gonna be working for : The Woodgroup

No news on the pregnancy.. still no baby :)

Welcome to our blog!

As you know, we are becoming 4, adding another Drouinette to the brood! Finding the time to email everyone with updates is becoming a rare luxury so I thought starting a familyblog would be the perfect way to keep you guys updated with the latest. You can also let us know what you are up to by posting comments. :)

Oh, now Im not sure where to start in my update.... well, pregnancy.

I am going on 32 weeks now and Im feeling a lot better now. Chloe (the working name we're using for our new baby girl) has turned around and is not 'beating me up' as much anymore. :) I have had a lot of back pains up until now due to her pressing against my spine and all sorts of nervs, but this is all gone. I guess I don't mind her staying in my tummy for bit longer :)

Today, Fred and I took Heidi to the Wild Fairyland Festival at Kings Park. This is an annual event and is organised as part of a big festival to open the park up for spring: http://www.bgpa.wa.gov.au/events-and-bookings/calendar/details/351

Between pouring rain and gazing sun, we had a fun time and Heidi was the cutest little fairy of all in her costume. We must admit that she'll probably get more out of the event next year but she still used up a lot of energy and she slept for the entire afternoon! Wooohoo!! Thats the best!

As you probably know, we've bought a house! We are now in the final stages of financial approval and there are no hickups in sight, knock on wood. As soon as we have received the last documents we'll be able to organise to go inside and take some decent photos to show you. Cant wait! :)

This is all for now and we're sending you lots of love and kisses until next time
