Running around in the buff

Last week was pretty quiet apart from Heidi destroying my mobile phone by drowning it in water and a few minor tantrums.

'Tantrum of the week', this week, is that she now takes her clothes off as soon as we go outside in the garden. It has been quite warm here lately and we have been going to the pool a lot so now she has decided to get undressed everytime we open the doors to the backyard. :) Hope the getting naked part doesn't last until and throughout her teens!!

You might be wondering how Fred's doing after his heart-attack-scare. The episode has been diagnosed as stressrelated and Fred is taking the doctors advice seriously and is chilling out a lot.. e.g spending a lot of time on the golf course!! As long as he's doing that during workhours and not during familytime, I dont mind. I know I would do the same :)

Heidi has started to say 'baby Chloe' and points at my tummy. I really wonder how much she understands or if we've just programmed her?! Oh well, she'll understand soon enough once the new bubba is out. She has made a lot of progress when it comes talking and expressing herself. Her latest word is 'tatoo' :) Fred has taught her to point to and name all the bodyparts in french. And when he was at it, he also through 'tatoo' in there too. It is actually very cute to listen to them chat away.

Summer is here! Woohoo!

Summer is here! Or at least summer was here on the weekend. Fingers crossed the nice weather continues :)
Our pool is now heated up and Heidi spent most of Saturday splashing around like a little fishie.
We had over 35 degrees on Saturday and it was really easy to remember why we have chosen to live in Australia, Love the heat!!
We had a few friends with their kids around on Sunday for a bbq and the kids stayed in the pool until their lips were blue and they were exhausted. Im sure everyone slept well last night. I know I did :)

On Friday, Hanna and I did a family photoshoot with Noah, Heidis boyfriend, and his parents in East Perth. We had so much fun and the photos turned out really nice. This family is so gorgeous and could easily be found in any ad or commersial. It was a bit tricky to shoot toddlers I must admit. They are not too patient and you have to be really quick to not miss those 'smily moments'. It was great for me to practice. :) I have attached a few of my favourite photos below. A little memory for them to bring back to Sweden....

I went to see my obstitritian today and 12th November is confirmed as the delivery date for Chloe. The pregnancy is going well but today my bloodpressure was a bit on the high side and I have really nasty headaches that my Dr wants me to keep an eye on. I now have to rest up to make sure my bloodpressure goes down. Dont want to end up in the hospital the last few weeks... Im seeing my obstitritian every week now so Im going back to run the tests again on Monday.

I'll see you again next week

1 year wedding anniversary in Margaret River

Hi all,

On the 18th of October, Fred and I have been married for one year!! Not sure what that would equivalent but I think it's something like paper-wedding :) I Will have to talk to you Diane, 42 years of marriage, what's your secret?!! ;)) No, just kidding - it's been a fun but very busy year.

We decided to celebrate a weekend early and headed down to Margaret River for a bit of familytime and well needed RnR. We stayed at a very cute and quaint place called: Dunsborough Railway Carriages and farm cottages.

This place is basically made up by a few old railway carriages that they have converted into 'trailers' to stay in. These carriages are placed in the middle of the woods on a farm with only farmland surrounding. Really different!

It was the perfect 'playground' for Heidi as the farm had heaps of different animals that she could pat and feed: chickens, ponies, lamas, cows, sheep etc. But the best of it all was two tame kangaroos that lived on the property. You could walk right up to them!

Heidi did really well with all the animals but was a bit afraid of the chicks... They where many and chasing her a bit but eventually she got over her fear and on Sunday morning Fred and Heidi went with the owner of the farm to pick freshly layed eggs at the chicken-coup. Heidi even picked the eggs from right under the hens! Very brave :))

We had a bit of time to visit a few wineries. We went to Vasse Felix where my favourite dessert wine is made, Cane cut. After Chloe is born, I have asked Fred to organise a really nice cheese platter and the dessert wine from Vasse for me. Last pregnancy I got jewels but this time I settle for nice cheese and wine :)) I guess priorities change after each pregnancy and I assume, years of marriage ;))

We also got a chance to visit Wise Wines. Heidi seemed to be very interested in the different varieties and was watching dads every move.

Then we went on to Mosswood wines. This was probably the absolute highlight of the weekend for Fred. Mosswood wines have amazing wines and you can only visit the vinyards if you have an appointment. Very exclusive!
We got to taste all there award winning wines and do a 'barrel tasting' of their Pinot. Superfun!!

Heidi was very good all day and happy just to tag along and hang out with us. Once back the carriage we were all very tired. Heidi and I snuggled up in bed watching the swedish cartoon 'Bamse', who is Heidi's fave at the moment, and then we went out to bbq before the entire family went to bed early. Not that unusual anymore..

Fred and I are really being the typical toddler-parents who wont last later than 9pm any night of the week...Shocking :)

Now its Sunday night and next week will be filled of doctors appointments, pre-admissions interviews at the hospital and other pregnancy related activities. Quite a lot to deal with the weeks just before delivery.... We saw our Obgyn last Monday and he said that everything is going according to plan. Chloe is healthy, has a strong heartbeat and will be about the same size as Heidi - 3.5 kg - and will be delivered by cesarean on the 12th or 16th of November. Only a few more weeks to go!!! Woooohooo!!!

That's it for now

Matters of the heart and a trip to the Perth Royal show

Hi folks,
So... the first realisation of becoming middleaged became painfully obvious to us last Saturday.
Fred woke up with on Saturday morning with chestpain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain and dizzyness. Our first though was: Heartattack!!
We rushed to Royal Perth Hospital and Fred was taken right through and hooked up to all kinds of machines to see what was going on.
It was so horrible and so hard to keep a straight face infront of Heidi!!!
Luckly, all the tests, ultrasound, ECGs etc didn't show any signs of blocked arteries but they found an anomality of his heartrythm that they couldn't explain. Fred will now see his GP for further tests and the doctors suspect that this episode is stress related. We'll know more shortly. The only thing we can say now is: Don't worry, Fred is doing fine despite all of this but has made a few changes to his lifestyle :)

On a happier note, Fred took a day off work this week to take us to the Perth Royal Show. This is an annual event during Spring school holidays and has all the things kids love. Carousells, animals, candystalls, shows etc. We had a great time and Heidi was beside her self!

She got to pat tons of animals and Fred took her on her first big-kid ride: the tea cups!

She absolutely loved it and wasn't too happy when it was over.... So of course, as Fred and I are big suckers, to stop her from crying we took her to win some tivoli-toys and she won a truck and was all happy after that... The kids always win don't they?
Then we went to visit the barnyard animals. Not sure if a dive assisted by dad to pat the little lambs was entirely ok, but Fred and Heidi had fun and no-one made a complaint. :)

Finally, the pregnancy is going well and Chloe is kicking me a lot. She's a lot more active than Heidi ever was when I expected her. What has be quite tough lately is that I have started to sleep really badly ... (and Fred too).. I snore like you wouldn't believe!!!! I have to admit, I've always snored a bit but now I snore like I've been on a drunken bender and haven't slept for a month! I wake myself up all the time cos Im so noicy and can't fall back to sleep. It's really, really bad! For Fred it's obviously bad too. He HAS to fall asleep before me otherwise he won't sleep at all. Only a few more weeks to go and then I won't be getting any sleep at all :)

Oh, I almost forgot - Tantrum of the week :
Fred got a new pushbike the other day and has been taking Heidi on rides around the neighbourhood. Heidi loves to go on rides with her dad and has her own pink bike-helmet.
Since this weekend, Heidi refuses to leave the house without wearing her helmet. She always wears it in the car, when we go to the playground or just hang around the garden. So on Tuesdays it's daycare-day and as usual Heidi refused to leave without her helmet and refused to take it off when we got there. She through a BIG tantrum outside the building and kept crying/yelling for a good few hours, the daycare-teachers told me....
I guess, it could have been a lot worse but Im a bit nervious about what's comming and Im not ready for an early for a preview to the 'terrible two'. :)

We miss you guys!
xoxo
