1 year wedding anniversary in Margaret River

Hi all,

On the 18th of October, Fred and I have been married for one year!! Not sure what that would equivalent but I think it's something like paper-wedding :) I Will have to talk to you Diane, 42 years of marriage, what's your secret?!! ;)) No, just kidding - it's been a fun but very busy year.

We decided to celebrate a weekend early and headed down to Margaret River for a bit of familytime and well needed RnR. We stayed at a very cute and quaint place called: Dunsborough Railway Carriages and farm cottages.

This place is basically made up by a few old railway carriages that they have converted into 'trailers' to stay in. These carriages are placed in the middle of the woods on a farm with only farmland surrounding. Really different!

It was the perfect 'playground' for Heidi as the farm had heaps of different animals that she could pat and feed: chickens, ponies, lamas, cows, sheep etc. But the best of it all was two tame kangaroos that lived on the property. You could walk right up to them!

Heidi did really well with all the animals but was a bit afraid of the chicks... They where many and chasing her a bit but eventually she got over her fear and on Sunday morning Fred and Heidi went with the owner of the farm to pick freshly layed eggs at the chicken-coup. Heidi even picked the eggs from right under the hens! Very brave :))

We had a bit of time to visit a few wineries. We went to Vasse Felix where my favourite dessert wine is made, Cane cut. After Chloe is born, I have asked Fred to organise a really nice cheese platter and the dessert wine from Vasse for me. Last pregnancy I got jewels but this time I settle for nice cheese and wine :)) I guess priorities change after each pregnancy and I assume, years of marriage ;))

We also got a chance to visit Wise Wines. Heidi seemed to be very interested in the different varieties and was watching dads every move.

Then we went on to Mosswood wines. This was probably the absolute highlight of the weekend for Fred. Mosswood wines have amazing wines and you can only visit the vinyards if you have an appointment. Very exclusive!
We got to taste all there award winning wines and do a 'barrel tasting' of their Pinot. Superfun!!

Heidi was very good all day and happy just to tag along and hang out with us. Once back the carriage we were all very tired. Heidi and I snuggled up in bed watching the swedish cartoon 'Bamse', who is Heidi's fave at the moment, and then we went out to bbq before the entire family went to bed early. Not that unusual anymore..

Fred and I are really being the typical toddler-parents who wont last later than 9pm any night of the week...Shocking :)

Now its Sunday night and next week will be filled of doctors appointments, pre-admissions interviews at the hospital and other pregnancy related activities. Quite a lot to deal with the weeks just before delivery.... We saw our Obgyn last Monday and he said that everything is going according to plan. Chloe is healthy, has a strong heartbeat and will be about the same size as Heidi - 3.5 kg - and will be delivered by cesarean on the 12th or 16th of November. Only a few more weeks to go!!! Woooohooo!!!

That's it for now

Lovexx
